Preview: Annie at Regent Theatre, Stoke

Star Casting for the Potteries

This leg of the tour stars the fantastic Claire Sweeney (Coronation Street, Chicago) as the formidable Miss Hannigan. Sweeney brings a perfect blend of comedic timing and vocal power to the role of the gin-soaked orphanage matron. She is joined by the “statesman-like” Alex Bourne as Oliver Warbucks and Tanisha-Mae Brown as the elegant Grace Farrell.

The “comically evil” duo of Rooster and Lily St. Regis is played by Christian Cooper and Amber Kennedy. Together with a rotating cast of “delightful urchins,” they bring Nick Winston’s vibrant choreography to life, filling the Regent stage with “incredible brio.”

Award-Winning Production Values

Under the direction of Nikolai Foster, this production is famous for Colin Richmond’s “jigsaw” set design—a visual metaphor for Annie’s search for the missing pieces of her life. Supported by Ben Cracknell’s atmospheric lighting and Adam Fisher’s crisp sound design, every Tony® award-winning note is delivered with West End precision.
